Learners will be taught in blocks of one week at a time, each comprising five days of teaching. Delivery of the course will be through a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, group work, laboratory sessions, practical sessions and self-directed study. Learners must also create a portfolio which will capture the knowledge, skills and behaviours developed throughout the programme and in the workplace.

The theoretical modules within the apprenticeship are evaluated through completion of assessments including assignments, case studies, examinations and poster presentations. Assessment of the required practice outcomes, clinical skills and professional behaviours will be undertaken in practice placements where the apprentices will be supported by practice assessors, practice supervisors and academic assessors.
All assessed work is subject to Æß²ÊÖ±²¥ Quality Assurance processes, successful completion of all components will lead to Gateway and completion of the endpoint assessment at a final Single Tier Assessment Board.
