Human Reproduction Study Group Summer Event
On Thursday 20th May 2021, the Centre for Reproduction Research hosted the Human Reproduction Study Group Summer Event Online Symposium ‘Reproductive challenges in a post-Covid19 world’ funded by the British Sociological Association.
The symposium included a keynote address from , University of Copenhagen on the ‘Decline-fertility forms in a stratified world’, and talks from , University College London: ‘Not the best time: Methodological and ethical challenges of researching parenting in a pandemic’, and , King’s College London: ‘Unpredictable, unclear and unsafe; changes to expectant parents’ views of maternity services during the first UK lockdown’.

East Midlands Medical Sociology Group Event
On Tuesday 9th February 2021, the Centre for Reproduction Research in collaboration with the hosted a conference funded by the British Sociological Association.
This conference included a keynote lecture from Dr Katie Featherstone, Reader in Medical Sociology, University of Cardif on ‘Wandering the wards: ward ‘rules’ and the consequences for people living with dementia’.

Forty-seven people attended the event. Delegates were a mixture of students, university and NHS researchers and clinicians from across the Midlands.
The meetings are open to both BSA and non BSA members. Details of our forthcoming meetings and booking instructions will be available via the and CRR websites. A small charge may be levied for attendance at meetings. However, BSA members and students will be charged a discounted fee. Decolonising Reproduction - Understanding the impact of racial stratification on sexual and reproductive health
In collaboration with the Decolonising Æß²ÊÖ±²¥ Project, the Centre for Reproduction Research held an event on Decolonising Reproduction on Thursday 21 January.
This event included a talk by Dr Annabel Sowemimo, Community Sexual & Reproductive Health Registrar, member of the FSRH’s International Committee and founder of the non-profit, community based organisation ‘’ about the impact of racial stratification on sexual and reproductive health.

Inaugural Lecture
On Wednesday 13th February 2019, the Centre for Reprioduction Research hosted the Inaugural Lecture of the Centre Director, Professor Nicky Hudson. Nicky’s lecture entitled ‘Did Margaret Atwood get it right? Reflecting on the social, economic and technological transformation of human reproduction’ provided a reflection on the current reproductive landscape, as well as recent developments and possible future directions for this rapidly developing field.
BSA Human Reproduction Study Group Winter Event
The Centre for Reproduction Research held the BSA Human Reproduction Study Group Winter Event: Critically Mapping Cross-Border Reproduction on Friday 1st February 2019, at the University of the West of England, Bristol
This conference included a keynote address from Professor , from the AFIN Research Group at the Autonomous University Barcelona, also Visiting Professor 2017-19 at UWE, Bristol: "On stratified reproductive work in Spain: the role of ‘anonymity’ and ‘altruism’"
