We are a dynamic, inclusive school that combines cutting-edge research, strong industrial links and state-of-the-art facilities to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes accredited by multiple engineering professional institutions.
Built on direct engagement with industry through consultancy, and knowledge transfer, along with a strong research environment, our School offers both BEng and MEng programmes in mechanical, aeronautical, electrical and electronic engineering, mechatronics and robotics. We also offer a portfolio of MSc programmes in these fields, alongside engineering management and specialised courses designed to equip future engineers to pursue careers in the rapidly expanding fields of energy, climate change and sustainable development.
Our School is committed to developing engineering solutions that will make a difference to society in an ethical and sustainable way. Our staff engage in research and commercial consultancy with engineering firms throughout the UK. With our world-class laboratories, students spend over 50% of their time in a practical setting, developing hands-on skills and tackling real-world engineering problems.
Our School is proud of our extra-curricular activities that include a vibrant, practical electronics club and participation in Engineers Without Borders UK. Our students also compete in international competitions such as the IMechE Formula Student, Railway Challenge and UAS Challenge, where they gain real-world, practical, team-based skills. This exposure to industry standards leads to outstanding career prospects for our graduates.
