Æß²ÊÖ±²¥active student volunteers say 'come along and try it!'

Emilie Fairnington, Sport Project Coordinator (Participation) said: “The Æß²ÊÖ±²¥active Volunteering academy is a fantastic initiative to get involved with while studying at Æß²ÊÖ±²¥ as it allows you to develop a range of skills which will help you in your future career.

“While studying Forensic Science at Æß²ÊÖ±²¥, I was a basketball Activator and led the weekly recreational basketball sessions. By volunteering in the role, it provided me with so many brilliant opportunities, allowed me to gain my coaching qualification, grow the sport that I am passionate about and meet so many amazing people.

“I would recommend to any Æß²ÊÖ±²¥ student who is interested in a role to apply, you can study any course and still volunteer with Æß²ÊÖ±²¥active!”

At the moment, the next academic year is planned to start in September as normal, and we’d like to reassure you that whatever is decided we will adapt our approach in line with this. If anything does change then we will be sure to inform you.
