Research in the Leicester Media School
Leicester Media School is a research intensive division of the university. In the last Research Excellence Framework (REF2016) review, research in the school came first in its panel in terms of ‘world-leading’ (4*) research outputs: almost half received this rating. 100% of our Impact and 90% of our Environment was judged to be ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
In recent years, researchers in the school have been awarded a number of grants to complete research, and some very recent highlights include:
Interfaces: An EU Culture project within the Creative Europe scheme, running 2016-2019 involving nine partners.
An Innovate UK funded project. Æß²ÊÖ±²¥ is one of 15 specialist organisations taking part in the project, which is being led by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).
A collaborative project between Oxford Brookes University, Ghent University, and Æß²ÊÖ±²¥.
The silver screen and the town: Memories of cinema-going, community and the revival of the local cinema, British Academy project. A collaborative partnership between the University of Leicester and Æß²ÊÖ±²¥.
Research activities are driven by a number of sector-leading institutes and centres based in the school which carry a very broad cross section of media research. These can be accessed via the links below.
